ABOUT US
Hi, I’m Kristen, the owner and founder of Peaceful Potato, LLC.
My journey began in 2013 when I started working in day habilitation programs and later served as an Assistant Director. Through this experience, I developed a deep passion for helping people build confidence, express themselves, make meaningful choices, and experience greater independence.
I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education and certifications in Yoga, Meditation, Life Coaching, Art Therapy, Cooking, Sound Healing and additional wellness-based practices. In 2020, I founded Peaceful Potato with the goal of creating welcoming, engaging, and customizable experiences for people of all abilities.
Peaceful Potato offers inclusive wellness, educational, recreational, and creative classes that are open to all adults in the community, including adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each class can be thoughtfully adapted to reflect participants’ interests, goals, learning styles, comfort levels, and support needs.
My very first participant was a wonderful individual with cerebral palsy who used a wheelchair and had an incredibly loving personality. His encouragement inspired me to continue growing Peaceful Potato and helping others discover new interests, build independence, and feel genuinely valued.
In 2023, I also became a published author with the release of my first children’s book, The Peaceful Potato.
At Peaceful Potato, every person deserves to have a voice, make choices, and participate in activities that bring them confidence, connection, and joy. We are committed to treating every participant with kindness, dignity, and compassion.
